Data Center

Data Center is a dedicated facility that houses the information-processing infrastructure, considering the criticality of equipment (24-hour a day, 7-days a week operations) and its operating requirements such as securing a room with temperature, humidity, voltage, water leak, smoke, and doors control and monitoring, etc. Special care needs to be taken to ensure that the optimum environment exists for its operations:

   1. Data Center location:

ACDIMA BioCenter Data Center is located in the middle of the building and is not located below any water pipelines. Thus, it is protected from any water leakage through the walls/ceiling.

   2. Space considerations:

The total area of the data center is 180 square feet and it is divided into two rooms one for equipment’s cabinets and the other is for control and monitoring purposes.

   3. Structural loading considerations:

3.1. High-quality specifications of multi-layers walls provide protection, fire resistance, and reserve temperature as required when AC is not functioning. Walls are consisting of three layers from Cement board, Rockwool, and Bi PCm. The data center room is enclosed in which it does not contain any outside windows.

3.2. The Data Center floor is raised to provide a hidden void for the passage of mechanical, electrical, and data cabling.

3.3. FM200 is implemented in our data center and used as a fire fighting system for the data center. FM200 systems reach extinguishing levels in 10 seconds or less, stopping ordinary combustible, electrical, and flammable liquid fires before they cause significant damage.

3.4. Vutlan system used as a monitoring system, Vutlan system designed for large data centers, connecting to multi-sensors (temperature, humidity, smoke, voltage, and water leakage) to measure environmental temperature, humidity, and other factors and send alarm (E-mail/SMS) to the assigned persons upon any deviations from the set acceptance criteria when action occurs.

3.5. ACDIMA BioCenter Data Center has a synchronized clock (NTP) same all the machines.

3.6. Three IP camera “4 M.B” are installed in the data center to keep it secured.

   4. Power and Cooling considerations:

4.1. Maintaining humidity in the data center <60 %, a dehumidifier machine is installed in the data center to control the humidity.

4.2. Data Center is provided with a dual electrical source from two different power sub-stations, where each sub-station has an electrical generator.

4.3. Data center is provided with UPS’s “uninterruptible power supply”, to Protect it from power failure and drop voltage, over-voltage, current fluctuation. Also, UPS provides the devices with electricity from the batteries, which will lead the servers to safely shut down in case of power failure.

4.4. HVAC system is designed in a manner to facilitate circulation of hot/cold air under raised flooring to the arranged cabinets, also an additional split unit is installed as a backup in case the main AC breakdown.

   5. Redundancy / Backup considerations:

5.1. Cluster systems: A server cluster is a group of independent servers running Windows Server 2012 (or higher) Enterprise Edition, or Windows Server 2012(or Higher) Data Center edition, and working together as a single system to provide high availability of services for clients. When a failure occurs on one of the cluster's servers, resources are redirected and the workload is redistributed to another server in the cluster.

5.2. Hyper-V is Microsoft's hardware virtualization product. It enables the creation and running of a software version of a computer, called a virtual machine. Each virtual machine acts like a complete computer, running an operating system, and programs.

5.3. Network Attached Storage (NAS) for home and business, this storage is used for backup the bioequivalence data generated during projects and used to sync with cloud service and others, ACDIMA data center has two Synology storages.

5.4. ACDIMA Data Center has a local cloud-hosted on WD Disk, used for sharing data to external users and uploaded data from outside ACDIMA BioCenter.

5.5. Veeam Backup and Replication, Symantec Backup Exec applications are used for backup and hosted on a physical server.  Additionally, iLand cloud service is implemented as a cloud backup repository.

5.6. Avaya Switch: switch (G430) is used to communicate between employees by voice over IP technology.

5.7. The switch is an electrical component used to connect all machines and computers to the same network, ACDIMA data center, and network used Cisco Switches.

   6. Security and Operational considerations:

ACDIMA BioCenter Data Center and network have Module with different features and speciation to ensure data is secured and not hacked such as (Open Worry-free Business security services (Trend Micro), Trend Micro Hosted Email Security, Meraki –Firewall and CISCO umbrella.
